Live Streaming of CritFest servers...

Recommended Posts

Ok, so when Skies and I are on, we'll generally be live streaming....if you have a twitch.tv channel (or other streaming channel), feel free to stream as well and advertise Critfest to spread the word!

At the moment, here's what we, as a community, have in place:

1.  http://www.critfest.com/livestream/  is the twitch video/audio stream but without the chat)

2.  http://www.twitch.tv/critfest (the Official CritFest Twitch TV stream)

3.  http://critfest.com/radio/  (Critfest Radio -- no video or chat, but just the music so you can enjoy in game - we can have up to 150 concurrent listeners)

3a,  http://www.shouthost.com/mobile/critfest  (Critfest Radio Mobile Edition - for iPhone and Android -- take the tunes with you!)

And for those of you who want to listen without the webpage:

IMPORTANT NOTE:  For the time being, as of 21 Feb 2014 -- CF Radio is down until further notice.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  In the meantime, spread the links -- get your friends to listen/watch when you play!

Regards,

SmackDaddy

We always are happy to have more people here as long as they aren't jerks or trolls. :)

That's kind of like sayin' "sorry, I wasn't speaking to you" when you're in a group of people having a group discussion... which I find quite rude. Captain Hindsight answered your question spot on.

I think things have been made very clear, but I will spell them out for you very........slowly.........

1.  Anyone can stream in our servers

2.  If someone joins our servers (from a friend request, watching a stream or randomly joins from steam server list), they are obliged to follow Rule #1 (don't be a dick) or they will be dealt with accordingly.

If there are questions after this, you are either trolling or are having severe difficulties comprehending things....

Just a FYI -- we have the twitch.tv critfest channel for streaming our events and such.....I am working on making a streaming "Critfest Radio" staiton outside of twitch so we can have 24/7 tunes streaming without having to worry about my mic or my video gaming stream.  More news to come on this.......

If you plan on streaming as an admin, let me know -- there is a way for me to have to stream to our channel when we're not playing (twitch.tv allows additional broadcasters to be specified per page) -- especially if I am going to work on getting a seperate radio stream going.   ;)

There are other broadcast packages (aside from xsplit):  http://obsproject.com/  and https://www.evolvehq.com/client  (haven't used them yet, so check their FAQ -- don't ask me)

I have OBS, and I will get in contact with you about stealing yo' thunder!

BTW Totally reccomend OBS. Xsplitter hasn't liked me in the past, but OBS is pretty good with quality and switching between stuff. I'd reccomend it for beginners.

Updated original post with #3 - Critfest Radio music only stream....enjoy.  You can play it in the in-browser flash player, or stream it to itunes, WinAmp, Quicktime, Real Player or Windows Media Player!

Enjoy.....

CF Radio will be down indefinitely -- not sure if it will come back up or not.  Only 3 connections in the last 2 weeks (that's fine if it's not everyone's cuppa tea) and I am having problems with my streaming software crashing every 3-4 songs after a recent update of my audio drivers. Rolling back to the old version didn't fix this.  Either I will be finding other software to use, or I will simply not stream any longer.

Thank you for your understanding.
